As a potter, I’m inspired by looking at the successful creations of other potters. And when those potters are also my dear friends, I’m doubly inspired!

Look at this gorgeous new raku-fired piece by my dear friend Ed Staples, a potter in Princeton, BC.

The vase stands 25 centimetres high. Ed glazed the piece with his La Neige white glaze and sprayed it with ferric chloride, then added horsehair for those exceptional graphic details.

With every firing, Ed is growing more confident and skilled in his raku techniques. I can’t wait to make another trip to Princeton for our next “pyro party”!
